5 Things to Consider When Redesigning Your Website

Posted On: 26 Apr 2019 | Marama Carmichael

In this digital age, businesses rely a lot on their websites to make sales, boost their market dominance, and satisfy their customers. However, you need to ensure that your website appeals to your customers and has enough information to help them make purchase decisions. If your website is not helping you reach your business goals, you will have to redesign it. Here are five things to consider when redesigning your website:

1. Website Content

Businesses exist to solve customers’ problems at a profit. There are many businesses that purport to have the solution that customers are looking for, but never do so. It is therefore your role as a proprietor to avail the most accurate and in-depth information on your website that will make the potential customers see you as an expert in your field and trust you enough to transact a business with you.

Search engines also rely on the uniqueness and usefulness of your website content to rank it favourably. Remember the more your website appears on the top SERPs, the greater your chances of making sales. Content is important, if you can’t handle it yourself find a copywriter to do the job. It will be worth your investment.

2. Website design

It is the design of your website that will make a potential reader to begin reading or move on to other websites. What’s the appearance of your website? How is it laid out? Potential clients will read websites that have everything in place. Aside from being uniquely inviting, the fonts should also be easy to read. Use of images will also help to enliven a dull space and break up clustered texts.

Also, when designing, consider other user interfaces, for example make your website favourable for mobile phone browsing as well as desktop display.

3. Ease of Navigation

You might be having the best website design loaded with relevant and useful information, but when your site visitors do not know how to begin navigating your site, they will certainly move on to other websites with ease of navigation.

Make it easier for your readers to find whatever they’re looking for by organising your website into relevant pages like About Us, Our Store, Partner with US, Contact Us etc. Putting everything in its right place makes it easier for the visitors to make purchase or contact you for future business as opposed to rummaging through clustered texts.

4. Readability

When creating content, it is vital to make them readable. If visitors are not able to read with ease, they will walk out of the site prematurely. On the other hand, content that can be read with ease enable visitors to read until call to action (CTA). This can increase conversion rates and boost your sales.

The reason you have a blog section is either to add value to your readers or show them what they lack (that you provide) that can save them from problems plaguing them. If they cannot read until CTA, then you will lose a lot of prospects.

5. SEO Friendliness

Did you know you’re not the only person who intends to make sales online in your market? Now you know. Very many sellers who are competing for the same customers. Your website should therefore be ranked top by the search engines. For this reason, you need an SEO expert to make search engines friendlier to your website. The moment someone searches for any product you sell, your website should be among the few that appear on the first search page.

Now, you can settle down and revamp your website. Remember, you should outsource what you can’t do by yourself. It will be a worthy investment. If you need help with your web design, contact us.  We will be glad to help you.
